A millions of feelings for an hour of visiting the unique Alexander McQueen, Savage Beauty exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
For those who know me, I'm not at all into fashion ! Basic clothes, no special patterns or brands and rarelly any accessories... However, if anyone of you comes to London this summer, believe me, this is a must-see ! First launched at the NY Metropolitan Museum in 2011, the attendance hit such a high record that London has now the privilege to also host 200 original samples of 'haute couture' from this famous Scottish fashion designer.
Thematically presented, you wander around mannequins displayed in spacious galleries with astonishing special effects... I'll try not to tell you all but here is the outiline !
You'll start with a huge catwalk show in the dark...
You'll discover his fascination for birds but also for sex...
You'll realise he travelled the world from East to West and South to North for such Ethnicity, Exotism. Eccentricity...
The best, The masterpiece, The heart of the exhibition is unquestionably 'The Cabinet of Curiosities' a double-high room with a 100 exceptional ensembles, garments, accessories... !
--> Don't wait ! Just go ! It's only until the 2nd of August !!! Special rate for students at only £9 ;)
